The Wedding of Jae & José

Welcome to Bali, With Love

A NOTE FROM US

Not a performance. Not a production.
Just a gathering with the people who’ve been there for the moments that mattered most. Bali felt right—peaceful, intentional, and a little magical. Somewhere that feels like both adventure and home, it's where we’ve chosen to begin something lasting. And we’re so glad you’re part of it.

Perched on a cliffside in Uluwatu, Savaya boasts some of the most breathtaking ocean views in Bali — especially at sunset. While the party crowd isn’t for everyone, the dramatic setting and striking architecture make it well worth a visit.

They have welcomed global names like Black Coffee, Peggy Gou, and Diplo, with top-tier DJs often playing on weekends. If you're visiting between September 8–15, 2025, check their schedule — tickets start from USD10 for general admission.

Bali is known for its incredible spas and massages — you can find everything from luxe resort treatments to charming local spots tucked away in quiet streets. Honestly, it’s hard to go wrong here.

Whether you're looking for a traditional Balinese massage, a flower bath, or a deep tissue fix after a flight, you’ll be spoiled for choice. Just pick one close to where you're staying or wander into one that catches your eye — chances are, it'll be amazing.

A short drive from Ubud, Tegenungan is one of Bali’s most accessible waterfalls — and worth the steps. After your climb up, cool off at Bali's scenic waterfall Dayclub right at the top, where you can dip your feet or your whole self in the pool with a drink in hand.

It’s the perfect reward after a steamy hike and offers a lovely view of the jungle canopy. Wear good shoes and bring a change of clothes if you plan to swim!

Located at The Apurva Kempinski Bali, Koral is Bali’s first aquarium restaurant and an unforgettable experience that’s well worth the splurge.

Named #1 in Indonesia and #9 in Asia by TripAdvisor's Best of the Best 2024, it combines fine dining with an underwater dreamscape. Led by Michelin-starred chef Jean-Baptiste Natali, the menu features innovative cuisine, creative cocktails, and flawless service.

You’ll dine surrounded by a panoramic aquarium, watching tropical fish drift by as you savor every course.

Tis Cafe is a scenic spot with sweeping views of Ubud’s rice terraces and a gorgeous infinity pool you can swim in while waiting for your food.

Jose loves the Bebek Goreng Nge’tis — crispy fried duck with rice and sambal, full of flavor and crunch. Jae recommends the Indonesian Royal Rijsttafel, a mini feast of local dishes like beef rendang, satay, and sambal eggs.

It’s relaxed, beautiful, and perfect for a chill afternoon. We suggest coming around 3–4pm for golden hour views.

Travel Information for Guests

We’re thrilled that you’ll be joining us in Bali! For those flying in from the US and Singapore, here’s everything you need to know to make your trip seamless.

Weather

Bali has a tropical climate, with warm temperatures year-round. Expect highs between 28°C (82°F) and 32°C (90°F). The rainy season typically runs from November to March, but showers are usually brief and followed by sunshine.

From the US:

Depending on the season in the US, you may be arriving from a colder climate. Bali will be much warmer and humid, so plan for lightweight and breathable clothing.

From Singapore:

As Singapore has a similar tropical climate, you’re already prepared for Bali’s heat and humidity, but pack light, moisture-wicking clothes to stay comfortable.

Flights

From the US:

Direct flights to Bali are limited, but most major US cities have connecting flights with one or two stopovers, often via Singapore, Doha, or Jakarta. The most common route is via Singapore Airlines or Qatar Airways. We recommend booking as early as possible to secure the best rates and availability.

You’ll be landing at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), located in Denpasar. It's the main international airport on the island.

Visa

For US Guests:

U.S. citizens can typically get a Visa on Arrival (VOA) for up to 30 days. However, we recommend applying for the Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) in advance for a faster and smoother arrival process. This visa allows you to stay for up to 30 days and can be extended once for an additional 30 days.

Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. You can apply for the e-VOA online through the official Indonesian Immigration portal:
👉 Apply for e-VOA

Customs Declaration:
Before your arrival, you’ll also need to complete a Customs Declaration Form online, which generates a QR code that will be scanned by customs officers at the airport.
👉 Customs Declaration Form

Tourism Levy:
As of February 14, 2024, all international visitors to Bali will be required to pay a tourism levy. Make sure to check for the latest updates on the fee and payment process.
👉 Bali Tourism Levy Information

Make sure to have all your documents and your QR code ready for a smooth arrival!

For Singapore Guests:

Singaporean passport holders can enter Bali visa-free for stays of up to 30 days. However, to expedite the immigration process and avoid long queues, we highly recommend applying for the Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) before your trip. This will allow you to use automated e-gates upon arrival, making the process faster and more convenient.

To apply for the e-VOA, simply visit the official e-VOA website, complete the online application, and receive your e-VOA approval ahead of your arrival.

Please note that all travelers, regardless of visa status, are required to complete an electronic Customs Declaration Form before arriving. You can fill it out online up to 3 days before arrival. After submission, you’ll receive a QR code that should be saved on your phone or printed out for customs scanning upon arrival.

Things to Note for First-Time Travelers to Bali

Water Safety:
Avoid drinking tap water in Bali. It’s best to stick to bottled or filtered water—even for brushing your teeth—unless your accommodation specifically states the tap is safe. This helps prevent an upset stomach (aka Bali Belly), which can be quite common for first-time visitors.

Bali Belly:
This is a mild form of food poisoning that affects many travelers. To minimize the risk, eat at places that look clean and busy, avoid ice if you're unsure of the water source, and pack some basic meds like activated charcoal, Imodium, or electrolytes—just in case.

Traffic in Bali:
Bali traffic can be wild—especially around popular areas. Travel times on Google Maps are often optimistic. Always budget extra time to get to our events or any activities so you can arrive relaxed and on time.

Connectivity:
You can get a local SIM card or eSIM for affordable data and smooth navigation. Airport providers are convenient but usually pricier than local kiosks in town.

Scooters:
Renting scooters is popular but comes with risks, especially if you're not used to Bali’s traffic. Only ride if you're confident, have an international driver’s license with motorcycle coverage, and always wear a helmet.

Weather + Sun Care:
It’s tropical—think hot, humid, and sunny. Pack light clothing, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and a hat. Sudden rain showers can happen, so a small umbrella or rain poncho is handy too.
